PUTTING CIGARETTES OUT

THE FUTURE OF TOBACCO HARM REDUCTION
Welcome to the Tobacco Harm Reduction Conference 2016

This is the first Tobacco Harm Reduction conference in the United States. The focus of the conference is on smoking among people with a mental illness and drug users. These two groups have exceptionally high rates of tobacco use and significant morbidity and mortality as compared to the general public. And they have been left out of the current debate around electronic cigarettes and nicotine addiction. How can drug users and people with a mental illness reduce the harms of tobacco use? This is the question that the speakers will to attempt answer. This conference is for health care providers, staff who work in smoking cessation programs, frontline staff in drug treatment programs, mental health workers in supportive housing for people with a mental illness, students and researchers.
